✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ bought from a Bedouin a camel or a she-camel for a wasq of 'ajwah dates, but he did not have them with him. The Bedouin came to him to demand payment, and he postponed him. The Bedouin shouted: 'What treachery! What treachery!' The companions of Muhammad scolded him, but he ﷺ said: 'Leave him, for the one who has a right has a say.' That happened two or three times. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Take him to Khawlah bt. Hakim—she was among the first of the female emigrants—and ask her for a loan, for she collects 'ajwah dates.' They went to her, and she paid him in full. He returned to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: 'You have paid in full and have been generous.' He ﷺ said: 'Are not those among you the best of you with God? Indeed, the best of creation with God are those who fulfill and are generous.'
