✧ Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf ؓ fainted with a swoon until they thought that his soul had departed. Umm Kulthum ؓ went out to the mosque seeking help with what she was commanded of patience and prayer. When he regained consciousness, he said: Did I faint? They said: Yes. He said: You spoke truth. Two angels came to me and said: Come, we will take you to judgment before the Mighty, the Trustworthy. Then another angel said: Return him, for this one is among those for whom happiness was written while they were in their mothers' wombs, and his sons will enjoy him for as long as Allah the Exalted wills. He lived after that for a month, then died ؓ.
