✧ I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said: 'Tell me about the best of the people of faith in faith.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the angels.' He ﷺ said: 'They are so, and that is rightfully theirs, and what prevents them, for Allah the Exalted has placed them in the station He placed them. But others.' They said: 'The prophets whom Allah the Exalted honored with His message and prophethood.' He ﷺ said: 'They are so, and that is rightfully theirs, and what prevents them, for Allah the Exalted has placed them in the station He placed them.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the martyrs who were martyred with the prophets.' machine translationAs for the hadith of al-Minhāl b. Baḥr, from Hishām al-Dastuwāʾī, from Yaḥyā b. Abī Kathīr, from Zayd b. Aslam, from his father, from ʿUmar: it is only narrated by the trustworthy memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) from Hishām, from Yaḥyā, from Zayd b. Aslam, from ʿUmar, as a mursal report.
