✧ A man asked the Messenger of God ﷺ about the time of the morning prayer. He ﷺ said: “Pray it with me today and tomorrow.” When he was at the plain of Namirah near al-Juhfah, he prayed it when dawn broke. Then when we were at Dhu Tuwa, he delayed it until the people said: “Has the Messenger of God ﷺ passed away?” They said: “If only we had prayed it.” Then he came out and prayed it before the sun. Then he turned to the people and said: “What did you say?” They said: “We said: If only we had prayed.” He ﷺ said: “If you had done that, punishment would have befallen you.” Then he called the questioner and said ﷺ: “The prayer is between these two times.”
