✧ Umar b. al-Khattab ؓ wrote to Abu Musa al-Ash'ari ؓ: I am writing about the prayer, and the most worthy thing for Muslims to attend to is the matter of their religion. I saw the Prophet ﷺ praying; I retained from that what I have retained, and I forgot from it what I have forgotten. So pray the noon prayer in the midday heat, the afternoon prayer while the sun is alive, the sunset prayer at the breaking of the fast of the fasting person, the evening prayer as long as you do not fear people's sleeping, and the morning prayer in darkness, and lengthen the recitation in it.
