   " أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ، وَلَا نُصَلِّيَ فِي أَعْطَانِ الْإِبِلِ فَإِنَّهَا خُلِقَتْ مِنَ الشَّيَاطِينِ

   ✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to pray in sheep pens, and not to pray in camel resting places, for they were created from devils.

   نَهَى عَنِ الْخَذْفَةِ وَقَالَ: " إِنَّهَا لَا يُصَادُ بِهَا صَيْدٌ وَلَا يُنْكَأُ بِهَا عَدُوٌّ، وَإِنَّ الْخَذْفَةَ تَكْسِرُ السِّنَّ وَتَفْقَأُ الْعَيْنَ

   ✧ He forbade throwing pebbles and said: 'It neither catches game nor injures an enemy, and pebble-throwing breaks the tooth and puts out the eye.'

   " قَرَأَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ سُورَةَ الْفَتْحِ فَرَجَّعَ، فَلَوْلَا أَنْ يَجْتَمِعَ عَلَيَّ النَّاسُ لَأَخَذْتُ لَكُمْ فِي ذَلِكَ الصَّوْتِ

   ✧ The Prophet ﷺ recited Surah al-Fath on the day of the conquest and made a trilling sound. Were it not that people would gather around me, I would have imitated that tone for you.

   أَوَّلُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ عَلَيْهِ خُفَّيْنِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ؛ أَتَانَا وَنَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلَيْهِ خُفَّانِ أَسْوَدَانِ، فَجَعَلْنَا نَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمَا وَنَعْجَبُ مِنْهُمَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَمَا إِنَّهُ سَيَكْثُرُ لَكُمْ مِنَ الْخِفَافِ، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَكَيْفَ نَصْنَعُ ؟ قَالَ: " تَمْسَحُونَ عَلَيْهَا وَتُصَلُّونَ

   ✧ The first person I saw wearing khuffs in Islam was al-Mughirah b. Shu'bah. He came to us while we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wearing two black khuffs, and we began looking at them and marveling at them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed, khuffs will become plentiful among you.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what should we do?' He said: 'Wipe over them and pray.'

   " دُلِّيَ جِرَابٌ مِنْ شَحْمٍ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ، فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَالْتَزَمْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ: هَذَا لِي، لَا أُعْطِي أَحَدًا مِنْهُ شَيْئًا ! فَالْتَفَتُّ فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَاسْتَحْيَيْتُ مِنْهُ

   ✧ A bag of fat was let down on the day of Khaybar, and I took it and clutched it, saying: 'This is mine; I will not give anyone any of it!' Then I turned and saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I felt ashamed before him.

   مَا حُرِّمَ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ هَذَا الشَّرَابِ ؟ قَالَ: الْخَمْرُ. قَالَ: قُلْتُ: هَذَا فِي الْقُرْآنِ ؟ فَقَالَ: لَا أُحَدِّثُكَ إِلَّا مَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ الرَّسُولِ - أَوِ الرَّسُولِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ، إِمَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ بَدَأَ بِالرِّسَالَةِ أَوْ بِالِاسْمِ - قَالَ: قُلْتُ: شَرْعِي؛ أَيِ اكْتَفَيْتُ، يَعْنِي قَالَ: نَهَى عَنِ الْحَنْتَمِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: وَمَا الْحَنْتَمُ ؟ قَالَ: الْجَرُّ الْأَخْضَرُ وَالْأَبْيَضُ " وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ "، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: مَا الْمُزَفَّتُ ؟ قَالَ: مَا جُعِلَ فِيهِ الْقَارُ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ أَوْ غَيْرِهِ. " وَالدُّبَّاءِ ". قَالَ: فَاشْتَرَيْتُ أَفِيقَةً فَنَبَذْتُ فِيهَا وَعَلَّقْتُهَا.

   ✧ What was forbidden to us of this drink? He said: Wine. He said: I said: Is this in the Quran? He said: I only narrate to you what I heard from Muhammad the Messenger — or the Messenger Muhammad ﷺ, either he began with the messengership or with the name — He said: I said: It is my law; meaning I have enough — meaning he said: He forbade al-hantam. He said: I said: What is al-hantam? He said: Green and white earthenware jars, and al-naqir and al-muzaffat. He said: I said: What is al-muzaffat? He said: That which has pitch put in it, from a vessel or otherwise, and al-dubba. He said: So I bought a small hide and soaked [the drink] in it and hung it.
