    قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَتَتْكَ رُسُلِي فَأَعْطِهِمْ ثَلَاثِينَ دِرْعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ بَعِيرًا» فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَعَارِيَةٌ مَضْمُونَةٌ أَوْ عَارِيَةٌ مُؤَدَّاةٌ؟ قَالَ «بَلْ عَارِيَةٌ مُؤَدَّاةٌ»

    ✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said to me: “When my messengers come to you, give them thirty coats of mail and thirty camels.” I said, “O Messenger of God, is it a guaranteed loan or a loan to be returned?” He said, “Rather, a loan to be returned.”

    أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اسْتَعَارَ مِنْهُ ثَلَاثِينَ فَرَسًا قَالَ وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ وَثَلَاثِينَ بَعِيرًا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَعَارِيَةٌ مَضْمُونَةٌ أَوْ عَارِيَةٌ مُؤَدَّاةٌ؟ قَالَ «بَلْ عَارِيَةٌ مُؤَدَّاةٌ»

    ✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ borrowed from him thirty horses—he said, and I think he said, “and thirty camels”—and he said, “O Messenger of God, is it a guaranteed loan or a loan to be returned?” He said, “Rather, a loan to be returned.”

    أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اسْتَعَارَ مِنْ صَفْوَانَ أَدْرُعًا وَأَفْرَاسًا وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ

    ✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ borrowed from Safwan coats of mail and horses, and he narrated the hadith.

    أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اسْتَعَارَ مِنْهُ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ أَدْرَاعًا قَالَ غَصْبٌ يَا مُحَمَّدُ؟ قَالَ «بَلْ عَارِيَةٌ مَضْمُونَةٌ» قَالَ فَضَاعَ بَعْضُهَا فَعَرَضَ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَضْمَنَهَا لَهُ قَالَ أَنَا الْيَوْمَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أَرْغَبُ

    ✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ borrowed a set of armor from him on the day of Hunayn. He said, "Is it on loan, O Muhammad?" He replied, "No, it is a trust." Some of it went missing, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered to make it up to him. He said, "I am content with you, O Messenger of Allah, in Islam today."

    أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اسْتَعَارَ مِنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ دُرُوعًا فَهَلَكَ بَعْضُهَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنْ شِئْتَ غَرِمْنَاهَا» قَالَ لَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ

    ✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ borrowed from Safwan b. Umayya coats of mail, and some of them were lost. The Messenger of God ﷺ said, “If you wish, we will compensate for them.” He said, “No, O Messenger of God.”

    أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْعَارِيَةُ مُؤَدَّاةٌ وَالْمَنِيحَةُ مُؤَدَّاةٌ» قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ عَهْدَ اللهِ ﷻ قَالَ «عَهْدُ اللهِ أَحَقُّ مَا أُدِّيَ»

    ✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “The loan is to be returned, and the gift of a milch animal is to be returned.” A man said, “O Messenger of God, what do you think about the covenant of God ﷻ?” He said, “The covenant of God is the most deserving to be fulfilled.”

    قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْعَارِيَةُ مُؤَدَّاةٌ وَالْمَنِيحَةٌ مَرْدُودَةٌ»

    ✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “The loan is to be returned, and the gift of a milch animal is to be given back.”

    عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «عَلَى الْيَدِ مَا أَخَذَتْ حَتَّى تُؤَدِّيَهُ»

    ✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: “The hand is responsible for what it takes until it returns it.”

    أَنَّ نَاقَةً لِآلِ الْبَرَاءِ أَفْسَدَتْ شَيْئًا فَقَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّ حِفْظَ الثِّمَارِ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا بِالنَّهَارِ وَضَمَّنَ أَهْلَ الْمَاشِيَةِ مَا أَفْسَدَتْ مَاشِيَتُهُمْ بِاللَّيْلِ

    ✧ A she-camel belonging to the family of al-Bara' spoiled something, and the Messenger of God ﷺ ruled that the protection of fruits is upon their owners during the day, and he made the owners of livestock liable for what their livestock spoiled at night.

    أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَتْ لَهُ نَاقَةٌ ضَارِيَةٌ فَدَخَلَتْ حَائِطًا فَأَفْسَدَتْ فِيهِ فَكَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «فَقَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّ حِفْظَ الْحَوَائِطِ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا بِالنَّهَارِ وَحِفْظَ الْمَوَاشِي عَلَى أَهْلِهَا بِاللَّيْلِ وَأَنَّ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْمَاشِيَةِ مَا أَصَابَتْ بِاللَّيْلِ»

    ✧ He informed him that he had a vicious she-camel which entered a walled garden and caused damage therein. He spoke to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that guarding walled gardens by day is the responsibility of their owners, and guarding livestock by night is the responsibility of their owners, and that the owners of livestock are liable for what their animals damage at night.

    أَفْسَدَتْ نَاقَةٌ لِلْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ فِي حَائِطِ قَوْمٍ فَرُفِعَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَضَى بِحِفْظِ الْمَاشِيَةِ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا بِاللَّيْلِ وَحِفْظِ الْحَوَائِطِ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا بِالنَّهَارِ

    ✧ A she-camel belonging to al-Bara' b. 'Azib caused damage in a people's walled garden. That was taken to the Prophet ﷺ, and he ruled that guarding livestock by night is the responsibility of their owners, and guarding walled gardens by day is the responsibility of their owners.

    أَنَّ نَاقَةً لَهُ وَقَعَتْ فِي حَائِطِ قَوْمٍ فَقَضَى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؛ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْأَمْوَالِ الْحِفْظُ بِالنَّهَارِ وَعَلَى أَهْلِ الْمَوَاشِي الْحِفْظُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَهُوَ النَّفْشُ الَّذِي ذَكَرَ اللهُ ﷻ فِي الْقُرْآنِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ هُوَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ

    ✧ A she-camel of his fell into a people's walled garden, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled concerning it: the owners of properties are responsible for guarding by day, and the owners of livestock are responsible for guarding by night; and that is the pasturing at night which Allah, Exalted is He, mentioned in the Qur'an. Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: Muhammad b. Maysara is Muhammad b. Abi Hafsa, and he is weak.

    قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الرِّجْلُ جُبَارٌ»

    ✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The injury caused by a leg is without liability."

    أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «النَّارُ جُبَارٌ وَالْبِئْرُ جُبَارٌ»

    ✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Fire is without liability, and the well is without liability."
