6. Companions Beyond the Ten Promised Paradise
Musnad Ahmad 1702Sahih
✧ Abu Bakr brought a guest of his, or guests of his, and he spent the evening with the Prophet ﷺ. When evening came, my mother said to him, 'You stayed away from your guest, or your guests, all night.' He said, 'Did you not give them supper?' She said, 'No, I offered that to him, or to them, but he refused, or they refused.' Abu Bakr became angry and swore not to eat it, and the guest, or the guests, swore not to eat it until he ate. Abu Bakr said, 'If this is from Satan.' Then he called for food, and he ate and they ate. Every time they lifted a morsel, the food grew larger from beneath, more than before. He said, 'O sister of Banu Firas, what is this?' She said, 'A delight to the eyes. Now it is more than it was before we ate.' They ate, and he sent some to the Prophet ﷺ, and they mentioned that he ate from it.
Musnad Ahmad 1703Sahih
✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ, one hundred and thirty men. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Does anyone of you have food?' It turned out a man had a saa' of food or the like, so it was kneaded. Then a tall, shaggy-haired polytheist man came driving sheep. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Are they for sale, or are they a gift?' or he said, 'or a present?' He said, 'No, for sale.' So he bought from him a sheep. It was prepared, and the Prophet of Allah ﷺ ordered the liver to be roasted. By Allah, not one of the hundred and thirty but that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ cut off a piece of its liver for him. If he was present, he gave it to him; if he was absent, he saved it for him. He made two bowls from it. We all ate and were satisfied, and there was left over in the two bowls, which we put on the camel.
Musnad Ahmad 1704Sahih
✧ The People of the Suffa were poor people, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ once said: 'Whoever has food for two should take a third' – and Affan said: 'with three' – 'and whoever has food for four should take a fifth, a sixth,' or as he said. And Abu Bakr came with three, and the Prophet ﷺ went off with ten, and Abu Bakr with three. Affan said: 'with a sixth.'
Musnad Ahmad 1705Sahih
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me to mount A'ishah behind me to al-Tan'im, so that I could let her perform 'Umrah.
✧ 'My Lord granted me seventy thousand of my Ummah who will enter Paradise without reckoning.' Umar said: 'O Messenger of Allah, why did you not ask for more?' He said: 'I did ask for more, and He granted me with every man seventy thousand.' Umar said: 'Why did you not ask for more?' He said: 'I did ask for more, and He granted me with every man seventy thousand.' Umar said: 'Why did you not ask for more?' He said: 'I did ask for more, and He granted me thus.' Abdullah b. Bakr spread his hands apart, and Abdullah said: and he spread his arms wide, and Abdullah gestured with his hands.
✧ Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will summon the debtor on the Day of Resurrection and make him stand before Him, then He will say: 'O My servant, how did you lose people's wealth?' He will say: 'O Lord, You know that I did not squander it; it was lost in drowning, fire, theft, or a bad investment.' Then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will call for something and place it in his scale, and his good deeds will outweigh.
✧ Allah will summon the debtor on the Day of Resurrection until he is made to stand before Him, and it will be said: 'O son of Adam, why did you take this debt, and why did you waste people's rights?' He will say: 'O Lord, You know that I took it, but I did not eat, drink, wear, or waste it; rather, it was destroyed on my hands by fire, theft, or a bad investment.' Then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will say: 'My servant has spoken the truth. I am more entitled to settle on your behalf today.' Then Allah will call for something and place it in his scale pan, and his good deeds will outweigh his bad deeds, and he will enter Paradise by the bounty of His mercy.
Musnad Ahmad 1709Sahih
✧ Saddle this she-camel, then mount your sister behind you. When you descend from the hill of al-Tan'im, enter ihram and come, and that was the night of departure.
Musnad Ahmad 1710Sahih
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abd al-Rahman: 'Mount your sister – meaning A'ishah – behind you and let her perform 'Umrah from al-Tan'im. When you descend with her from the hill, tell her to enter ihram, for it is an accepted 'Umrah.'
Musnad Ahmad 1711Sahih

Musnad Ahmad 1712Sahih
✧ The People of the Suffa were poor people, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ once said: 'Whoever has food for two should take a third, and whoever has food for four should take a fifth, a sixth,' or as he said. And Abu Bakr came with three, and the Prophet of Allah ﷺ went off with ten, and Abu Bakr with three. He said: 'So it was me, my father, and my mother – and I do not know whether he said: and my wife – and a servant between our house and Abu Bakr's house. And Abu Bakr had dinner with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then he stayed until the 'Isha prayer was performed, then he returned and stayed until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dozed off; then he came after as much of the night had passed as Allah willed. His wife said to him: 'What delayed you from your guests?' or she said: 'your guest?' He said: 'Did you not serve them dinner?' She said: 'They refused until you come; they offered them food, but they insisted.' He said: 'So I went and hid myself.' He said: 'And he said: O 'Antar – or O Ghunthar – and he insulted and cursed and said: Eat, may it not be wholesome.' And he said: 'By Allah, I will never eat it.' He said: 'And the guest swore that he would not eat it until Abu Bakr ate it.' He said: 'Abu Bakr said: This is from Satan.' He said: 'So he called for the food and ate.' He said: 'By Allah, we did not take a morsel but it grew from beneath it more than it.' He said: 'Until they were satisfied, and it became more than it was before. Abu Bakr looked at it and it was as it was or more, so he said to his wife: O sister of Banu Firas, what is this? She said: By the delight of my eye, it is now three times more than it was before. So Abu Bakr ate from it and said: That was from Satan, meaning his oath. Then he ate a morsel from it, then carried it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and it remained with him until morning.' He said: 'And there was a treaty between us and a people, and the term expired, so we recognized twelve men, with each man some people – Allah knows best how many with each man – but he sent with them, and they all ate from it.'

✧ He called Musa b. Talhah when he celebrated the wedding of his son, and said: 'O Abu 'Isa, what has reached you about sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ?' Musa said: 'I asked Zayd b. Kharijah about sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ, and Zayd said: I myself asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: How should we send blessings upon you? He said: Pray and strive, then say: O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You blessed Ibrahim; indeed You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.'
✧ Al-Harith ibn Khazama came with these two verses from the end of Bara'a (Surah At-Tawbah) {There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves} [At-Tawbah 128] to Umar ibn al-Khattab. Umar asked, "Who is with you on this matter?" Al-Harith replied, "I do not know, by God, except that I bear witness I heard it from the Messenger of God ﷺ and learned it and memorized it." Umar said, "And I bear witness that I heard it from the Messenger of God ﷺ." Then he said, "If it were three verses, I would have made it a separate Surah. Look for a Surah of the Quran and place it in it." So, I placed them at the end of Bara'a (Surah At-Tawbah).
