✧ I came to the Messenger of God ﷺ, intending not to leave anything of righteousness or sin without asking him about it. I came to him while a band of people were around him seeking his legal opinions, so I began to step over them. They said: 'Stay back, O Wabisa, from the Messenger of God ﷺ.' I said: 'Let me draw near to the Messenger of God ﷺ, for he is the most beloved of people to me that I should draw near to him.' He said: 'Leave Wabisa; draw near, O Wabisa. Consult your heart, and consult your soul. Consult your heart, and consult your soul. Righteousness is that to which the soul feels tranquility and to which the heart feels tranquility, while sin is that which agitates in the soul and wavers in the breast, even if people give you a legal opinion, and give you a legal opinion'—three times.

✧ I came to the Messenger of God ﷺ, intending not to leave anything of righteousness or sin without asking him about it. I came to him while a band of Muslims were around him seeking his legal opinions, so I began to step over them toward him. They said: 'Stay back, O Wabisa.' I said to them: 'Let me draw near to him, for he is the most beloved of people to me that I should draw near to him.' He said: 'Leave Wabisa; draw near, O Wabisa. Draw near, O Wabisa.' So I drew near and sat before him. He said to me: 'O Wabisa, are you asking me, or shall I inform you?' I said: 'Rather [inform me].'

  3. Musnad Abi Ya'la 1588No grade recorded

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ departed while a man was praying behind the group, so he said: 'O you who pray alone, will you not join the row and enter with them, or pull a man to yourself if the place is too crowded for you? Repeat your prayer, for you have no prayer.'

  4. Musnad Abi Ya'la 1589No grade recorded

✧ He would stand among the people on the day of the sacrifice, or on the day of the breaking of the fast, and say: 'I witnessed the Messenger of God ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage, and he was saying: Which day is this?' The people said: 'The day of sacrifice.' He said: 'Which month is this?' Then he said: 'Which land is this?' They said: 'This sacred land.' He said: 'Indeed your blood, your wealth, and your honor are sacred to you, like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this land of yours, until the day you meet Him.' Then he said: 'O God, have I conveyed? Let the one present convey to the one absent.' Wabisa said: 'We call upon you as witnesses, just as he called upon us as witnesses.'

✧ We call upon you as witnesses, just as he called upon us as witnesses; so you have taken it in, and we are conveying it to you.

✧ On the day of Qurayza, a man of the Ansar called Khallad was killed. His mother was told: 'O Umm Khallad, Khallad has been killed.' She came wearing a face veil, and it was said to her: 'Khallad has been killed, and you come to us wearing a face veil?' She said: 'If I am bereaved of Khallad, I will not be bereaved of my modesty.' They mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: 'Indeed he has the reward of two martyrs.' It was said: 'O Messenger of God, why is that?' He said: 'Because the People of the Book killed him.'
