حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارٌ أَبُو يَاسِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الضُّبَعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْجَعْدُ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:

أَعْرَسَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِبَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ، قَالَ: فَصَنَعَتْ لَهُ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ حَيْسًا، ثُمَّ جَعَلَتْهُ فِي تَوْرٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَتْ لِي: اذْهَبْ بِهَذَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَقْرِئْهُ مِنَّا السَّلَامَ، وَأَخْبِرْهُ أَنَّ هَذَا لَنَا مِنْهُ قَلِيلٌ. قَالَ أَنَسٌ: وَكَانُوا يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي جَهْدٍ شَدِيدٍ، قَالَ: فَجِئْتُ بِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّهُ بَعَثَتْ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ، وَهِيَ تُقْرِئُكَ السَّلَامَ، وَتَقُولُ: إِنَّ هَذَا لَكَ مِنَّا قَلِيلٌ، قَالَ: فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ، قَالَ: ضَعْهُ، قَالَ: فَوَضَعْتُهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: اذْهَبْ، فَادْعُ فُلَانًا وَفُلَانًا، حَتَّى سَمَّى رِجَالًا كَثِيرًا، وَمَنْ لَقِيتُ، قَالَ: فَجِئْتُ وَالْبَيْتُ، وَالصُّفَّةُ، وَالْحُجْرَةُ مَلْأَى مِنَ النَّاسِ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ consummated his marriage with one of his wives. He said: Umm Sulaym made some hais for him, then put it in a stone vessel, then said to me: "Take this to the Messenger of God ﷺ and convey our greetings to him, and tell him that this is from us, a little gift." Anas said: They were in severe hardship that day. He said: I brought it to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of God, Umm Sulaym sent this to you, and she conveys her greetings to you and says: 'This is for you from us, a little gift.'" He said: He looked at it and said: "Put it down." He said: I put it down. Then the Prophet ﷺ said to me: "Go and invite so-and-so and so-and-so," until he named many men, "and whoever you meet." He said: I came and the house, the suffah, and the room were full of people.
