✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in the mosque and sat down with him. He said: O Abu Dharr. I said: At your service. He said: Have you prayed? I said: No. He said: Get up and pray. So I prayed, then came back and sat with him. He said: O Abu Dharr, have you sought refuge in God from the evil of the devils of the jinn and humans? I said: Are there devils among humans? He said: Yes, O Abu Dharr. Then he said to me: Shall I direct you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? I said: Yes, O Messenger of God, may my father and mother be your ransom. He said: There is no might and no power except with God, for it is a treasure from the treasures of Paradise. I said: What about prayer, O Messenger of God? He said: A good thing established, so whoever wishes may do little and whoever wishes may do more. I said: What about fasting, O Messenger of God? He said: An obligatory duty that suffices. I said: What about charity, O Messenger of God? He said: Multiplied many times over, and with God is more. I said: Which of them is best? He said: Effort from one of little means, and secrecy to a poor person. I said: O Messenger of God, which verse that God sent down to you is greatest? He said: God, there is no deity but He, the Living, the Eternal. I said: Which of the prophets was first, O Messenger of God? He said: Adam. I said: Was he a prophet? He said: Yes, a prophet with whom God spoke. I said: How many were the messengers, O Messenger of God? He said: Three hundred and fifteen, a great multitude.
