  1. Liʾabī Usāmah Aḥaddathakum Saʿd b. Saʿīd al-Anṣārī
  2. al-Sāʾib b. Yazīd

✧ The prayer was originally prescribed as two prostrations [i.e., two rak'ahs]... [two rak'ahs each], for Zuhr and 'Asr. They used to pray two rak'ahs after Zuhr and two rak'ahs after 'Asr. Then Zuhr was made four for them and 'Asr four, so they abandoned that when it was made obligatory upon them. The prayer of travel was kept as it was, and the prayer of residence was made four. He affirmed it and said: Yes.
