أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ شَيْخٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ قَالَ صَحِبْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ إِلَى الْحِمَى فَلَمَّا غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ هِبْتُ
أَنْ أَقُولَ لَهُ الصَّلَاةَ فَسَارَ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ بَيَاضُ الْأُفُقِ وَفَحْمَةُ الْعِشَاءِ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ ثَلَاثَ رَكَعَاتٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ عَلَى إِثْرِهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُ

✧ That I should say to him, 'The prayer.' He traveled until the whiteness of the horizon was gone and the darkness of Isha had set in. Then he dismounted and prayed Maghrib, three rak'ahs, and then he prayed two rak'ahs immediately after it. Then he said, 'This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do.'
