✧ On the day of Hunayn, the people fled from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, except al-Abbas b. Abd al-Muttalib and Abu Sufyan b. al-Harith. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered al-Abbas to call out: 'O companions of Surat al-Baqarah, O assembly of the Ansar!' Then he urged the call among Banu al-Harith b. al-Khazraj. When they heard the call, they came. By Allah, I did not liken them except to camels yearning for their young. When they met, the battle intensified. Then he said: 'Now the oven is heated!' He ﷺ took a handful of white pebbles and threw it, and said: 'They are defeated, by the Lord of the Ka'bah!' Ali b. Abi Talib was on that day the most intense in fighting in front of him ﷺ.
