✧ We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, until when we were at the spring of the Romans which is called the expedition of Tabuk, severe hunger afflicted us. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we will meet the enemy tomorrow, and they are full while we are hungry.' He ﷺ addressed the people, then said: 'Whoever has surplus food, let him bring it to us.' He spread a leather mat, and about twenty-some sa's were brought. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat and invoked blessing, then called the people and said: 'Take.' They took, until a man would tie the sleeve of his shirt and take in it. A leftover remained, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah. No truthful man says it and then enters the Fire.'
