✧ We were carrying stones to the House when Quraysh built it. The men carried stones, and the women carried mortar—mortar is what is placed between the rocks. Al-Abbas ؓ said: I and my nephew Muhammad were carrying stones on our necks and putting our lower garments under the rocks. When people came upon us, we would wrap ourselves. While I was with Muhammad in front of me, he fell and lay prostrate. I came running and reached him, and behold, he was looking at the sky. I said to him, 'What is the matter with you?' He stood up and wrapped himself, and said ﷺ, 'I was forbidden to walk naked.' Al-Abbas ؓ said: I kept that from the people for fear they would think it madness.
