✧ Ibrahim (peace and blessings be upon him) was commanded to build the House, and he felt constrained by it, not knowing how to build. Then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, sent down the Sakina, which is a wind that pierces, and it encircled him like a shield, so he built upon it. Each day he would build a course—meaning a wall—while Makkah was intensely hot. When he ﷺ reached the place of the Stone, he said to Ismail (peace and blessings be upon him), 'Go and seek a stone.' Ismail ﷺ went wandering in the mountains, and Jibril ﷺ descended with the Stone. Ismail ﷺ came back and said, 'Where is this from?' He said, 'From the One who does not rely on my building or yours.' So he placed it. Then it fell into ruin, and the Amalekites rebuilt it. Then it fell into ruin, and Jurhum rebuilt it. Then it fell into ruin, and Quraysh rebuilt it. When they wanted to place the Stone, they disputed over it and said, 'The first person to come out of this gate, the gate of Banu Shaybah.' The Prophet ﷺ came out, and they said, 'This is the trustworthy one.' He ﷺ ordered a garment to be spread, placed it on it, and ordered one man from each tribe to take a side of the garment. They lifted it, and the Prophet ﷺ took it and placed it.
