قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ ]: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؓ، قَالَ:

( كَانَ نِسَاءُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ يُصَلِّينَ مَعَ الرِّجَالِ فِي الصَّفِّ، فَاتَّخَذْنَ قَوَالِبَ يَتَطَاوَلْنَ بِهَا، تَنْظُرُ إِحْدَاهُنَّ إِلَى صَدِيقِهَا، فَأُلْقِيَ عَلَيْهِنَّ الْحَيْضُ فَأُخِّرْنَ. قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: فَأَخِّرُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَخَّرَهُنَّ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

Translation

✧ The women of the Children of Israel used to pray with the men in the same row. They took wooden clogs to make themselves taller, so that one of them could look at her friend. Menstruation was imposed upon them, and they were moved back. Abdullah said: So move them back from where Allah, Mighty and Majestic, moved them back.
