✧ Jibril ﷺ came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'O Muhammad, Allah the Exalted loves three of your Companions, so love them: Ali b. Abi Talib, Abu Dharr, and al-Miqdad ؓ.' He said: Then Jibril ﷺ came to him and said, 'O Muhammad, Paradise yearns for three of your Companions,' and Anas b. Malik ؓ was with him ﷺ, and he hoped it might be for some of the Ansar. Anas said: He wanted to ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about them but was in awe of him. So he went out and met Abu Bakr ؓ and said, 'O Abu Bakr, I was just with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when Jibril ﷺ came to him and said, "Paradise yearns for three of your Companions." I hoped it might be for some of the Ansar, but I was too in awe to ask him ﷺ. Would you go in and ask him?' Abu Bakr ؓ said, 'I fear to ask him and then not be among them, and my people would gloat over me.'
