✧ The Rights of a Muslim upon a Muslim

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ هُوَ ابْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، بِهَذَا، وَزَادَ:

« وَإِنِ امْرُؤٌ شَتَمَكَ فَعَيَّرَكَ بِمَا هُوَ يَعْلَمُهُ مِنْكَ، فَلَا تُعَيِّرْهُ بِأَمْرٍ تَعْلَمُهُ مِنْهُ، فَإِنَّهُ يَكُونُ وَبَالُ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآخِرُهُ لَكَ

Translation

✧ If a man insults you and taunts you about something he knows about you, do not taunt him about something you know about him, for the bad consequence of that will be upon him and its final benefit will be yours.
