machine translationMālik b. Saʿīr narrated it from al-Ajlaḥ, from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir, from ʿUmar, raised (marfūʿ) to the Prophet ﷺ, and Ibn Fuḍayl followed him on it from Ajlaḥ; Mūsā b. Isḥāq al-Qawwās said this on his authority. But the companions of Abū al-Zubayr narrated it from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir, from ʿUmar as his own saying, not raised (ghayr marfūʿ). Among them are Ayyūb, Ibn ʿAwn, Hishām b. Ḥassān, al-Awzāʿī, Ṣakhr b. Juwayriyah, Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah and al-Layth b. Saʿd.
