✧ The dabb lizard and the hyena

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، وَمَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ
حَكَمَ فِي الضَّبُعِ كَبْشًا، وَفِي الْغَزَالِ شَاةً، وَفِي الْأَرْنَبِ عَنَاقًا، وَفِي الْيَرْبُوعِ جَفْرَةً
Translation
✧ He ruled for the hyena a ram, for the gazelle a sheep, for the hare a young she-goat, and for the jerboa a jafrah.
