✧ His wife said to him, while he had a male camel and a she-camel, “Give me your male camel to perform Hajj on it.” He said, “It is a charitable endowment in the path of Allah Almighty.” She said, “It is indeed in the path of Allah for me to perform Hajj on it,” but he refused. She said, “Then give me the she-camel, and you perform Hajj on your male camel.” He said, “I do not prefer anyone over myself.” She said, “Then give me some of your provisions.” He said, “I have no surplus beyond what I take out myself, and if I had any, I would give it to you.” She said, “When you do what you have said, convey my greetings of peace to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ when you meet him, and tell him what I said to you.” When he met the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, he conveyed her greetings and told him what she had said. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Umm Taliq has spoken the truth. If you had given her your male camel, it would have been in the path of Allah, and if you had given her your she-camel, it would have been in the path of Allah, and if you had given her some of your provisions, Allah would have replaced it for you.” I said, “O Prophet of Allah, what equals Hajj?” He ﷺ said, “An ‘umrah in Ramadan.”
