✧ Cleaning Between the Fingers and the Beard

قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ وَاصِلِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَوْرَةَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ؓ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

« حَبَّذَا الْمُتَخَلِّلُونَ ». قَالَ: قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا الْمُتَخَلِّلُونَ ؟ قَالَ: « التَّخَلُّلُ مِنَ الْوُضُوءِ أَنْ تُخَلِّلَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِكَ وَأَظْفَارِكَ، وَالتَّخَلُّلُ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ، فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ شَيْءٌ أَشَدَّ عَلَى الْمَلَكِ الَّذِي مَعَ الْعَبْدِ مِنْ أَنْ يَجِدَ مِنْ أَحَدِكُمْ رِيحَ الطَّعَامِ

Translation

✧ 'Blessed are those who clean between (their fingers).' He said: They asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, who are those who clean between?' He said: 'Cleaning between in wudu is to clean between your fingers and nails, and cleaning between after eating, for there is nothing more burdensome to the angel who is with a servant than to smell food odor from one of you.'
