✧ I was the envoy of Banu al-Muntafiq to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We arrived at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ but did not find him in his house; instead, we found Aishah. She ordered a khazirah (a kind of soup) for us, and it was prepared. She brought us a qina' - and the qina' is a tray - with dates on it. We ate. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and said: 'Have you had anything? Or shall I order something for you?' We said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.'

machine translationWhat the hadith of Laqīṭ b. Ṣabirah was faulted for (iʿlāl), namely that no one narrated from ʿĀṣim b. Laqīṭ b. Ṣabirah except Ismāʿīl b. Kathīr, and he said: "It is nothing," is not valid, because others besides him narrated from him.
