27. ✧ What was narrated as musnad from al-Mughirah b. Shu'bah

    " مَنْ رَوَى عَنِّي حَدِيثًا وَهُوَ يَرَى أَنَّهُ كَذِبٌ فَهُوَ أَحَدُ الْكَذَّابِينَ

    ✧ "Whoever narrates a hadith from me while he thinks it is false is one of the liars."

    أَمْرَانِ لَا أَسْأَلُ عَنْهُمَا أَحَدًا مِنَ النَّاسِ: صَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ خَلْفَ الرَّجُلِ مِنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ، فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى خَلْفَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، وَالْمَسْحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ، فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَيْهِمَا

    ✧ Two matters about which I do not ask anyone among the people: a man praying behind another man from his subjects, for I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ pray behind 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf, and wiping over the leather socks, for I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ wipe over them.

    ✧ The "Prophet ﷺ wiped the top of his leather socks."

    كَانَ يُصَلِّي حَتَّى تَرِمَ قَدَمَاهُ، قَالَ: فَقِيلَ لَهُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَتَصْنَعُ هَذَا وَقَدْ غُفِرَ لَكَ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَفَلَا أَكُونُ عَبْدًا شَكُورًا

    ✧ He used to pray until his feet became swollen. He said: It was said to him: O Messenger of God, do you do this when your past and future sins have been forgiven? The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Should I not be a grateful servant?

    لَمَّا مَاتَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ابْنُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ، فَقَالَ النَّاسُ: انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ لِمَوْتِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ، وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، فَإِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَصَلُّوا حَتَّى تَنْجَلِيَ

    ✧ When Ibrahim, the son of the Messenger of God ﷺ, died, the sun eclipsed. The people said: The sun eclipsed because of the death of Ibrahim. The Messenger of God ﷺ came out and said: O people, the sun and the moon do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone, but they are two signs among the signs of God, Mighty and Majestic. So when that happens, pray until it clears.

    " صَلَّى بِنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ فَقَامَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ فَسَبَّحُوا بِهِ فَمَضَى فِي صَلَاتِهِ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ، وَقَالَ: هَكَذَا فَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

    ✧ "Al-Mughira b. Shu'ba led us in prayer and he stood up after the first two rak'ahs. They said subhan Allah to him, but he continued his prayer. When he finished, he prostrated twice, then said the salam, and said: This is how the Messenger of God ﷺ did."

    أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ هُذَيْلٍ كَانَتْ لَهُ امْرَأَتَانِ، فَرَمَتْ إِحْدَاهُمَا الْأُخْرَى بِعَمُودِ فُسْطَاطٍ فَأَسْقَطَتْ، فَقَالَ: أَرَأَيْتَ مَنْ لَا أَكَلَ وَلَا شَرِبَ وَلَا صَاحَ وَلَا اسْتَهَلَّ ؟ فَقِيلَ: " أَسَجْعًا كَسَجْعِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ؟ "، قَالَ: فَقَضَى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِغُرَّةٍ وَجَعَلَهُ عَلَى عَاقِلَةِ الْمَرْأَةِ

    ✧ A man from Hudhayl had two wives, and one of them threw a tent pole at the other and caused her to miscarry. He said: What do you think of one who did not eat, drink, cry out, or raise its voice? It was said: "Is it rhymed prose like the rhymed prose of the Jahiliyya?" He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ ruled regarding it with a ghurra and placed it upon the woman's 'aqila.

    " لَمْ يَتَوَكَّلْ مَنِ اسْتَرْقَى أَوِ اكْتَوَى

    ✧ He has not relied upon Allah who seeks ruqyah or cauterizes.

    أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَأَى رَجُلًا طَوِيلَ الشَّارِبِ فَدَعَا بِسِوَاكٍ وَشَفْرَةٍ، فَوَضَعَ السِّوَاكَ تَحْتَ الشَّارِبِ فَقَصَّ عَلَيْهِ

    ✧ The Prophet ﷺ saw a man with a long mustache, so he called for a siwak and a blade, placed the siwak under the mustache, and trimmed it along it.

    ✧ The rider is behind the funeral procession, and the walker may be wherever he wishes relative to it: in front of it close by, or to its right close by, or to its left close by.

    ✧ The miscarried fetus is prayed over, and supplication is made for its parents for forgiveness and mercy.

    انْطَلَقْنَا مَعَ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى الْعِلْجِ ذَا الْحَاجِبِ، فَأَرْسَلُوا إِلَيْنَا أَنِ ابْعَثُوا إِلَيَّ رَجُلًا لِأُكَلِّمَهُ، قَالَ: فَاخْتَارَ النَّاسُ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ أَبِي: فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى رَجُلٍ أَعْوَرَ مَعَهُ حَجَفَةٌ لَهُ، فَإِذَا هُوَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ، فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى الْعِلْجِ فَقَالَ: بَعَثَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِينَا نَبِيًّا وَعَدَهُ اللهُ النَّصْرَ، فَمَا

    ✧ We set out with al-Nu'man b. Muqarrin and came to the non-Arab 'the one with the eyebrow' (Dhu al-Hajib). They sent to us: 'Send a man to me that I may speak with him.' He said: The people that day chose al-Mughirah b. Shu'bah. My father said: It is as if I am looking at a one-eyed man with a shield of his; and there he was al-Mughirah b. Shu'bah. We came to the non-Arab, and he said: 'Allah (mighty and majestic) sent among us a prophet, and Allah promised him victory, so what...'
