   كَانَ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَرْقَمَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى جَنَائِزِنَا وَيُكَبِّرُ أَرْبَعًا، فَكَبَّرَهَا يَوْمًا خَمْسًا، فَقِيلَ لَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَبَّرَهَا خَمْسًا

   ✧ Zayd b. Arqam used to pray over our funerals and say four takbirs. One day he said five takbirs over it. He was asked about that, and he said: "The Prophet ﷺ said five takbirs over it."

   قَالَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ أَتْبَاعًا، وَإِنَّا قَدْ تَبِعْنَاكَ كُلُّنَا، فَادْعُ اللهَ لَنَا أَنْ يَجْعَلَ أَتْبَاعَنَا مِنَّا ! فَفَعَلَ فَدَعَا لَهُمْ

   ✧ The Ansar said: "O Messenger of God, every people have followers, and we have all followed you. So supplicate God for us to make our followers from among us!" He did so and supplicated for them.

   كُنَّا نَجْلِسُ إِلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ وَنَقُولُ: حَدِّثْنَا حَدِّثْنَا، فَيَقُولُ: إِنَّا قَدْ كَبِرْنَا وَنَسِينَا، وَالْحَدِيثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ شَدِيدٌ

   ✧ We used to sit with Zayd b. Arqam and say: "Narrate to us, narrate to us." He would say: "We have grown old and forgotten, and narrating hadith from the Messenger of God ﷺ is a serious matter."

   " مَا أَنْتُمْ بِجُزْءٍ مِنْ مِائَةِ أَلْفِ - أَوْ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ - جُزْءٍ مِمَّنْ يَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ، وَكَانُوا يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَانَمِائَةٍ أَوْ تِسْعَمِائَةٍ

   ✧ "You are not a part of a hundred thousand – or seventy thousand – parts of those who will come to me at the Basin." At that time they were eight hundred or nine hundred.

   ✧ "These latrines are frequented by devils, so when one of you comes to relieve himself, let him say: I seek refuge in God from the male and female devils."

   ✧ Anas lost sons, and Zayd b. Arqam wrote to him that the Prophet ﷺ said: "O God, forgive the Ansar, the children of the Ansar, and the children of the children of the Ansar."

   ✧ I said to Zayd b. Arqam: "How many expeditions did the Messenger of God ﷺ go on?" He said: "Nineteen expeditions."

    ✧ I said to Zayd b. Arqam: "How many expeditions did you go on with the Messenger of God ﷺ?" He said: "Seventeen expeditions."

    شَهِدْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ سَأَلَ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ: أَشَهِدْتَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عِيدَيْنِ اجْتَمَعَا فِي يَوْمٍ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: كَيْفَ صَنَعَ ؟ قَالَ: صَلَّى الْعِيدَ، ثُمَّ رَخَّصَ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ فَقَالَ: " مَنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ فَلْيُصَلِّ

    ✧ I witnessed Mu'awiya asking Zayd b. Arqam: Did you witness with the Messenger of God ﷺ two festivals that coincided on one day? He said: Yes. He said: How did he act? He said: He prayed the festival prayer, then he granted a dispensation regarding the Friday prayer, saying: "Whoever wishes to pray, let him pray."

    أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ " أَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَتَدَاوَوْا مِنْ ذَاتِ الْجَنْبِ بِالْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ وَالزَّيْتِ

    ✧ The Prophet ﷺ "commanded them to treat pleurisy with Indian aloeswood and oil."

    رَأَى نَاسًا جُلُوسًا إِلَى قَاصٍّ، فَلَمَّا طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ ابْتَدَرُوا إِلَى السَّوَارِي يُصَلُّونَ، فَقَالَ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَرْقَمَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: صَلَاةُ الْأَوَّابِينَ إِذَا رَمِضَتِ الْفِصَالُ

    ✧ He saw people sitting with a storyteller, and when the sun rose they hastened to the pillars to pray. Zayd b. Arqam said: The Messenger of God ﷺ said: The prayer of the penitent is when the young camels feel the heat of the sun.

    سَأَلْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ وَالْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ عَنِ الصَّرْفِ، فَجَعَلْتُ أَسْأَلُ أَحَدَهُمَا فَيَقُولُ: سَلِ الْآخَرَ فَإِنَّهُ أَفْضَلُ مِنِّي ! فَسَأَلْتُهُمَا فَحَدَّثَانِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الذَّهَبِ بِالْوَرِقِ نَسَاءً

    ✧ I asked Zayd b. Arqam and al-Bara' b. 'Azib about money exchange. I asked one of them and he said: Ask the other, for he is better than me! I asked them both and they told me that the Messenger of God ﷺ forbade selling gold for silver on credit.

    " لَا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يُقَاتِلُونَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ اللهِ
