حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ أَبُو زَيْدٍ - أَوْ غَيْرُهُ - عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ بَكْرٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ:
أَمْرَانِ لَا أَسْأَلُ عَنْهُمَا أَحَدًا مِنَ النَّاسِ: صَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ خَلْفَ الرَّجُلِ مِنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ، فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى خَلْفَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، وَالْمَسْحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ، فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَيْهِمَا

✧ Two matters about which I do not ask anyone among the people: a man praying behind another man from his subjects, for I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ pray behind 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf, and wiping over the leather socks, for I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ wipe over them.
