حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ:

مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مُنْتَصِرًا مِنْ ظُلَامَةٍ ظُلِمَهَا قَطُّ إِلَّا أَنْ يُنْتَهَكَ مِنْ مَحَارِمِ اللهِ شَيْءٌ، فَإِذَا انْتُهِكَ مِنْ مَحَارِمِ اللهِ شَيْءٌ كَانَ أَشَدَّهُمْ فِي ذَلِكَ، وَمَا خُيِّرَ بَيْنَ أَمْرَيْنِ قَطُّ إِلَّا اخْتَارَ أَيْسَرَهُمَا

Translation

✧ I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ever seeking revenge for a wrong done to him unless the sacred limits of Allah were violated. If any of the sacred limits of Allah were violated, he was the most severe of them regarding that. And he was never given a choice between two matters except that he chose the easier of them.
