حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسْهِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ سَلْعٍ - ثِقَةٌ - حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ طَائِرٌ، فَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ ائْتِنِي بِأَحَبِّ خَلْقِكَ يَأْكُلُ مَعِي مِنْ هَذَا الطَّيْرِ، فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَرَدَّهُ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُمَرُ فَرَدَّهُ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ عَلِيٌّ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ had a bird, and he said: O God, bring me the most beloved of Your creation to eat with me from this bird. Abū Bakr came, and he sent him back. Then ʿUmar came, and he sent him back. Then ʿAlī came, and he permitted him.
