What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • al-Tirmidhi

machine translationWe do not know it except from the hadith of Ḥammād b. Salamah, and its chain of transmission is not that sound (laysa bi-dhāka al-qāʾim).

machine translationThis hadith is not known except through this route, and Abū ʿUdhrah is not well known (ghayr mashhūr). All the hadiths about the bathhouse (ḥammām) are defective (maʿlūl); only what is from the Companions, may God be pleased with them, is authentic among them. If this hadith is preserved (maḥfūẓ), then it is explicit.

  • Maghlaṭay

    machine translationA good (jayyid) chain.
