حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ غَيْلَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ الزِّمَّانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي صَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ:

" إِنِّي لَأَحْتَسِبُ عَلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، أَنْ يُكَفِّرَ السَّنَةَ وَقَالَ فِي صَوْمِ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ: " إِنِّي لَأَحْتَسِبُ عَلَى اللهِ أَنْ يُكَفِّرَ السَّنَةَ الَّتِي قَبْلَهُ، وَالسَّنَةَ الَّتِي بَعْدَهُ

✧ "I hope to be rewarded by Allah, Mighty and Majestic, for expiating the year," and regarding fasting on the day of 'Arafah he said: "I hope to be rewarded by Allah for expiating the year before it and the year after it."
