✧ He went with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of Hudaybiyyah. My companions entered ihram, but I did not. The Prophet ﷺ went on, and I was with my companions. Some of them began to laugh at each other, so I looked and saw a wild donkey. I charged at it, stabbed it, and brought it down. I sought their help, but they refused to help me. We ate from it, and I feared that my people would be cut off, so I went urging my horse, seeking the Prophet ﷺ. I met a man from Ghifar in the middle of the night and said: Where did you leave the Prophet ﷺ? He said: At al-Suqya. I said: O Messenger of Allah, your companions send you greetings and the mercy of Allah, and they feared that they would be cut off without you, so wait for them, O Messenger of Allah. Then I said: O Messenger of Allah, I caught a wild donkey and I have some of it left over. The Prophet ﷺ said to the people: "Eat," and they were in ihram.
