Translation

✧ I was a guest of Umar b. al-Khattab. He said: "O Ash'ath, memorize from me three things that I memorized from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: Do not ask a man why he beat his wife, and do not sleep except after performing the witr prayer." And I forgot the third.
