✧ I remained with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as long as I remained. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: "A land of palm trees has been shown to me, and I do not think it is other than Yathrib. Will you convey from me to your people what Allah may benefit them through you and reward you among them?" I said: Yes. He said: So I set out and met Unays, who said to me: What have you done? I said: I have submitted and believed. He said: I have no desire to turn away from your religion, for I have submitted and believed. He said: We came to our mother and presented Islam to her. She said: I have no desire to turn away from the religion of you two, and she said: I have submitted and believed. He said: We came to our people and presented Islam to them. Half of them submitted, and the other half said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrives we will submit. He said: Ima' b. Rahada al-Ghifari used to lead them in prayer, and he was their chief. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Madinah, the remaining half submitted. And our brothers from Aslam came and said: We submit on the same basis as our brothers from Ghifar. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "It is Ghifar; may Allah forgive it, and Aslam; may Allah keep it safe."
