حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ:
قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " مُنْذُ كَمْ أَنْتَ هَاهُنَا ؟ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: مُنْذُ ثَلَاثِينَ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً، قَالَ: " مُنْذُ ثَلَاثِينَ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً ! " قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: " فَمَا كَانَ طَعَامُكَ ؟ " قُلْتُ: مَا كَانَ لِي طَعَامٌ وَلَا شَرَابٌ إِلَّا مَاءُ زَمْزَمَ، وَلَقَدْ سَمِنْتُ حَتَّى تَكَسَّرَتْ عُكَنُ بَطْنِي، وَمَا أَجِدُ عَلَى كَبِدِي سُخْفَةَ جُوعٍ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنَّهَا مُبَارَكَةٌ، وَهِيَ طَعَامُ طُعْمٍ، وَشِفَاءُ سُقْمٍ.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: "How long have you been here?" He said: I said: For thirty days and nights. He said: "Thirty days and nights!" I said: Yes. He said: "Then what was your food?" I said: I had no food or drink except the water of Zamzam, and I have grown fat until the folds of my belly have creased, and I do not find on my liver any weakness of hunger. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: "It is blessed; it is food that nourishes and a cure for sickness."
