✧ "I agreed with my Lord, Mighty and Majestic, in four matters. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, if only you prayed behind the Maqam,' and this verse was revealed: 'And take the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, if only you ordered your wives to veil, for both the righteous and the wicked enter upon you.' So Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: 'And when you ask them for something, ask them from behind a screen.' And this verse was revealed: 'We certainly created man from an extract of clay' until the end of the verse. When it was revealed, I said: 'Blessed is Allah, the best of creators.' Then it was revealed: 'So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.' And I entered upon the wives of the Prophet ﷺ and said to them: 'Either you desist, or Allah will replace you with better wives than you.' So this verse was revealed: 'Perhaps his Lord, if he divorces you...'"
