Qays al-Kindi came out to us and said: What did Abu 'Abd al-Rahman narrate to you? We said: Such-and-such a hadith. He said: He spoke the truth. It was revealed concerning me. I disputed with a man over a well before the Messenger of God ﷺ, and the Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Your evidence or his oath.' I said: Then he will swear and he is sinful. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Whoever swears a false oath, being sinful or wicked in it, to seize thereby property, will meet God, Mighty and Majestic, while He is angry with him.
