حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْعَيْزَارَ بْنَ حُرَيْثٍ، يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؓ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ:
" عَجِبْتُ لِلْمُسْلِمِ ; إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُ مُصِيبَةٌ احْتَسَبَ وَصَبَرَ، وَإِذَا أَصَابَهُ خَيْرٌ حَمِدَ اللهَ وَشَكَرَ، إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمَ يُؤْجَرُ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، حَتَّى فِي اللُّقْمَةِ يَرْفَعُهَا إِلَى فِيهِ

✧ I wonder at the Muslim: when a calamity befalls him, he seeks reward and is patient; and when good befalls him, he praises God and gives thanks. Indeed, the Muslim is rewarded in everything, even in the morsel he raises to his mouth.
