حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ سُورَةَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ومُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ الْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ وعُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ قَالَا ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنِي شَدَّادٌ أَبُو عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ قَالَ

بَيْنَمَا أَنَا قَاعِدٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِذْ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَسَكَتَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَأَعَادَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ قَالَ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَخَرَجَ قَالَ شَدَّادٌ فَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَمْشِي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَالرَّجُلُ يَتْبَعُهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «حِينَ خَرَجْتَ مِنْ بَيْتِكَ تَوَضَّأْتَ فَأَحْسَنْتَ؟» قَالَ بَلَى قَالَ «وَشَهِدَتَ الصَّلَاةَ مَعَنَا؟» قَالَ بَلَى قَالَ «فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ قَدْ غَفَرَ لَكَ حَدَّكَ» أَوْ قَالَ «دَيْنَكَ»

✧ While I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ, a man came and said, “O Messenger of God, I have committed a punishable offense, so carry out the punishment on me.” The Prophet ﷺ remained silent. He repeated, “I have committed a punishable offense, so carry out the punishment on me.” He said, “The prayer was called, so the Messenger of God ﷺ entered and then left.” Shaddad said: Abu Umamah told me: “I was walking with the Messenger of God ﷺ while the man followed him, saying, ‘O Messenger of God, I have committed a punishable offense, so carry out the punishment on me.’ The Messenger of God ﷺ said, ‘When you left your house, did you perform ablution and do it well?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘And did you attend the prayer with us?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘God ﷻ has forgiven you your offense’ or he said, ‘your debt.’”
