حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبْدُوسٍ قَالَ: نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ قَالَ: نَا وَرْقَاءُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْيَشْكُرِيُّ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:

إِزْرَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ، وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ - أَوْ أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ - لَا يَنْظُرُ اللهُ إِلَى مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ بَطَرًا

Translation

  4. al-ʿAlāʾ b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman
  5. his father
  6. Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī
  7. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ The believer’s lower garment reaches to the middle of the shin, and there is no blame on him for what is between that and the ankles — or below the ankles — but Allah does not look at one who lets his garment drag out of pride.
