✧ "O boy, shall I not gift you? Shall I not grant you? Shall I not give you?" He said: I said: "Yes, may my father and mother be your ransom, O Messenger of Allah." He said: I thought he would give me a piece of wealth. He said: "Four rak'ahs that you pray every day. If you cannot, then every Friday. If you cannot, then every month. If you cannot, then every year. If you cannot, then once in your lifetime: you say the takbir, then recite the Mother of the Qur'an (al-Fatihah) and a surah. Then you say: 'Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is most great' fifteen times. Then you bow, and you say it ten times. Then you rise, and you say it ten times. Then you prostrate, and you say it ten times. Then you rise, and you say it ten times. Then you prostrate, and you say it ten times. Then you rise, and you say it ten times. Then you do the same in all of your prayer. When you finish, you say after the tashahhud and before the taslim: 'O Allah, I ask You for the success of the people of guidance, the deeds of the people of certainty, the sincerity of the people of repentance, the determination of the people of patience, the earnestness of the people of watchfulness, the seeking of the people of longing, the worship of the people of piety, and the knowledge of the people of learning until I fear You. O Allah, I ask You for fear that restrains me from disobeying You, so that I may act in obedience to You with deeds that make me deserving of Your pleasure, and that I may be sincere to You in repentance out of fear of You, and that I may purify my counsel for You out of love for You, and that I may rely upon You in all matters with good thoughts of You. Glory be to the Creator of the Fire.'" If you do that, O Ibn 'Abbas, Allah will forgive your sins: small and large, old and new, secret and open, deliberate and mistaken."
