✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “What I fear most for you is what Allah brings forth for you from the blessings of the earth.” It was asked, “What are the blessings of the earth?” He said: “The splendor of this world.” A man asked him, “Can good bring evil?” The Prophet ﷺ remained silent until we thought revelation was descending upon him. He then began wiping his forehead and said: “Where is the questioner?” He replied, “Here I am.” Abu Sa'id said, “We certainly commended him when that became apparent.” He said: “Good brings only good. This wealth is lush and sweet. Everything that the spring causes to grow kills by bloating or nearly does so, except the animal that eats green herbage: it eats until its flanks become extended, then it faces the sun, ruminates, defecates, and urinates, after which it returns and eats again. This wealth is sweet. Whoever takes it rightfully and puts it where it rightfully belongs, it is an excellent aid for him; but whoever takes it without right is like one who eats but is never satisfied.”
