✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought al-Buraq and mounted it behind Jibril ﷺ. It carried them both. When it came upon a mountain, its hind legs would rise; when it descended, its front legs would rise. It carried us through a gloomy, stinking land, then continued until we emerged into a wide, pleasant land. I said: "O Jibril, we were traveling through a gloomy, stinking land until we emerged into a wide, pleasant land." Jibril ﷺ said: "That was the land of the Fire, and this is the land of Paradise." Then I came upon a man standing in prayer. He said: "Who is this with you, O Jibril?" Jibril said: "This is your brother Muhammad." He welcomed me, prayed for blessing for me, and said: "Ask ease for your nation." I said: "Who is this, O Jibril?" He said: "This is your brother 'Isa." Then we continued and heard a voice and a roar. We came upon another man. He said: "Who is this, O Jibril?" Jibril said: "This is your brother Muhammad." He welcomed me, prayed for blessing for me, and said: "Ask ease for your nation." I said: "Who is this, O Jibril?" He said: "This is your brother Musa." I said: "About whom is his anger and his raised voice?" He said: "About his Lord." I said: "About his Lord?!" He said: "Yes, for he is known for that and for his intensity." Then we continued and saw lamps. I said: "What is this, O Jibril?" He said: "This is the tree of your father Ibrahim. Shall we approach it?" I said: "Yes." We approached it, and he welcomed me and prayed for blessing for me. Then we went on until we entered the Holy House [Jerusalem]. He tied the mount to the ring that the prophets used to tie their mounts to. Then I entered the Holy House, and the prophets—those whom Allah the Exalted has named and those He has not named—were presented to me. I prayed with them all except these three: Musa, 'Isa, and Ibrahim (peace and blessings be upon them).
