✧ Al-Buraq was brought to me, and I rode behind Jibril ﷺ. He traveled with us; when he ascended, his legs rose, and when he descended, his hands rose. He said: He traveled with us through a land that was gloomy and stinking until we came out to a land that was spacious and pleasant. I said, "O Jibril, we were traveling through a gloomy, stinking land, then we came out to a spacious, pleasant land." He said, "That was the land of the Fire, and this is the land of Paradise." He said: I came to a man standing in prayer. He said, "Who is this with you, O Jibril?" He said, "This is your brother Muhammad." He welcomed me and prayed for blessing for me and said, "Ask ease for your community." I said, "Who is this, O Jibril?" He said, "This is your brother 'Isa ibn Maryam, peace and blessings be upon him." He said: We traveled on and I heard a voice and grumbling. We came to a man. He said, "Who is this, O Jibril?" He said, "This is your brother Muhammad." He welcomed me and prayed for blessing for me and said, "Ask ease for your community." I said, "Who is this, O Jibril?" He said, "This is your brother Musa." I said, "Against whom was his grumbling and voice?" He said, "Against his Lord." I said, "Against his Lord?" He said, "Yes, that is known from his intensity." He said: Then we traveled on and saw lamps and light. He said: I said, "What is this, O Jibril?" He said, "This is the tree of your father Ibrahim, peace and blessings be upon him. Shall we draw near to it?" I said, "Yes." We drew near, and he welcomed me and prayed for blessing for me. Then we went on until we came to Bayt al-Maqdis. I tethered the mount to the ring to which the prophets tether, then I entered the mosque. The prophets whom Allah ﷻ has named and those He has not named were gathered for me, and I prayed with them, except for these three: Ibrahim, Musa, and 'Isa, peace and blessings be upon them.

machine translationThis is a hadith in which Abū Ḥamzah Maymūn al-Aʿwar was alone (tafarrada); the statements of our imams about him differ, and he brought additions in the mention of the Miʿrāj that the two Shaykhs (al-Bukhārī and Muslim), may God be pleased with them both, did not narrate.
