✧ I was brought the Buraq and I mounted it. When it ascended a mountain, its hind legs rose, and when it descended, its forelegs rose. It traveled with us through a land of grief and stench, then we emerged into a spacious, pleasant land. He said—I think he was Jibril ﷺ —: "That is the land of the people of the Fire, and this is the land of the people of Paradise." Then I came upon a man standing, and he said: "Who is this with you, O Jibril?" He said: "Your brother Muhammad ﷺ." He welcomed me and prayed for blessing for me. I said: "Who is this, O Jibril?" He said: "Your brother 'Isa ibn Maryam ﷺ." We continued and I heard a voice, then we came upon a man. He said: "Who is this with you?" He said: "This is your brother Muhammad ﷺ." He welcomed me and prayed for blessing for me, and said: "Ask for ease for your ummah." I said: "Who is this, O Jibril?" He said: "This is your brother Musa." I said: "Upon whom was his complaint?" He said: "Upon his Lord." I said: "Upon his Lord?" He said: "Yes, he knew His sharpness." Then we continued and I saw something. I said: "What is this, O Jibril?" He said: "This is the tree of your father Ibrahim. Draw near to it." So we drew near to it, and he welcomed me and prayed for blessing for me. Then we proceeded until I came to Bayt al-Maqdis, and I tied the animal to the ring to which the prophets tie it. Then we entered the mosque, and the prophets—those whom Allah has named and those He has not—were gathered for me, and I led them in prayer, except for these three: Ibrahim, Musa, and 'Isa."
