✧ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ twice in the market of Dhu al-Majaz while I was selling some goods of mine. He passed by wearing a red cloak of his, and he ﷺ was calling out at the top of his voice, “O people, say: There is no god but Allah, and you will succeed.” A man was following him throwing stones at him, and he had made his heels and Achilles tendons bleed. He was saying, “O people, do not obey him, for he is a liar.” I said, “Who is this?” They said, “This is a young man from Banu Abd al-Muttalib.” I said, “Then who is this who is following him and throwing at him?” They said, “His uncle Abd al-Uzza, who is Abu Lahab.” He said, “When Islam became manifest in Madinah, we came in a caravan from al-Rabadha until we stopped near Madinah.”
