✧ We went out to perform 'Umrah and headed to the dwelling of Abu Dharr ؓ. There he was coming carrying a camel's bone or it was being carried with him. He came to his dwelling, then came to us and greeted us... and mentioned the hadith. He said to them: For every such-and-such, they slaughter a camel and eat it, and for me in every camel is a bone. A man said: O Abu Dharr, what is your wealth? He ؓ said: I have a herd of camels and a small flock of sheep; in one of them is my son, and in the other is a black slave I bought, and he is to be freed. He serves me until the year ends, then he is free. He said: A man said: O Abu Dharr, by Allah, none of the people we know has more wealth than your companions. He said: By Allah, there is no right in their wealth except that I have the like of it. He said: We began asking him for legal opinions. A man said: O Abu Dharr, we have a man who fasts the entire year except the day of Sacrifice and the day of Breaking the Fast. He ؓ said: He has neither fasted nor broken his fast. He said: But he does such-and-such. He said: He repeated it...
