✧ While A'ishah bint Talhah ؓ was saying to her mother Umm Kulthum bint Abi Bakr ؓ: "My father is better than your father," A'ishah the Mother of the Believers ؓ said: "Shall I not judge between you two? Abu Bakr ؓ entered upon the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: 'O Abu Bakr, you are the freed one of God from the Fire.'" She ؓ said: "From that day he was called Atiq. And Talhah ؓ entered upon the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: 'You, O Talhah, are among those who have fulfilled their vow.'"

  • Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī

machine translationThere is weakness (ḍaʿf) in Isḥāq, even if Mūsā heard it from ʿĀʾishah bint Ṭalḥah or from Umm Kulthūm, may God be pleased with them; otherwise it is also broken (munqaṭiʿ). The mention of Ṭalḥah, may God be pleased with him, in it: they have transmitted it by routes other than this one. Muʿāwiyah b. Isḥāq narrated it from ʿĀʾishah bint Ṭalḥah, may God be pleased with her, with a wording other than this.
