حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعُمَرِيُّ الْقَاضِي ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ؓ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ «أَنْتَ عَتِيقٌ مِنَ النَّارِ» فَمِنْ يَوْمَئِذٍ سُمِّيَ عَتِيقًا

✧ I entered upon Aisha, the Mother of the Believers ؓ, and she said, "Abu Bakr entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said to him, 'You are Atiq from the Fire.' From that day on he was called Atiq."
